New to dog photography? Here are a few FAQs to help you know what to expect.

  • Do you just photograph dogs?

We want to make all fur babies the star of the show! Although we mostly photograph dogs, we also work with cats and other pets that you consider family too upon request. Reach out with any questions.

  • Can I reschedule a sitting?

We understand life can be unpredictable! If you need to reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask for at least 72 hours’ notice so we can offer your spot to another client and keep our calendar running smoothly.

With timely notice, your session retainer will be fully transferable to your new date within the next 12 months.

  • We have multiple pets. Can they be photographed together?

A session is for one pet. You can add a second pet to the sitting when booking your appointment. We will photograph them each individually. If they are still doing well, we can try to photograph them together. If you have more than two pets, please schedule an additional appointment.

  • Can I add myself or my family to the sitting?

This sitting is designed for one pet; however, you can add yourself or your family to the sitting when booking your appointment for an additional fee. We will photograph your pet individually as well as photograph you with your pet or your family as a whole.

  • Can you send me a price list?

We’re happy to provide a comprehensive guide upon request - just reach out and we’ll send it over. There’s absolutely no pressure to purchase, and if you decide not to move forward with any artwork, your $200 booking deposit is fully refunded.

We don’t publish a full price list online because every order is custom-designed. During your design and ordering appointment, we walk you through all the options to ensure your artwork is the perfect fit for your home - reflecting your style, space, and budget.

Portraits begin at $100, with final pricing based on size, finish, and how you choose to display them. Most of our clients invest between $1,000 and $5,000 in custom, heirloom-quality artwork for their home.

  • Can I buy digitals?

Yes! We offer beautifully edited, high-resolution digital collections starting at $249. And for every print you purchase, you’ll receive the matching digital file complimentary - so you can enjoy your portraits both in-hand and on-screen.

  • How long have you been in business?

We are a new division of Kim Jew Photography Studio, which has been in business in New Mexico for 50 years. You will be working with some of the best in the industry!

  • How do I prepare?

To help your dog shine in their portraits, we recommend a fresh grooming and nail trim - ideally the day before your session. Bring along a thin leash and a few of their favorite small treats to help keep their focus.

A nice walk beforehand can also work wonders in helping them feel relaxed and ready for the camera.

If you’ll be in a few shots with your dog, we suggest wearing black first and foremost. Dark solid colors or earth tones also work great and won’t distract from your pup. Avoid bright colors, logos, and bold patterns.

  • How do I see my portraits?

After your sitting, your portrait artist will help you schedule an order and design appointment at a time that’s best for you, either in-person or over Zoom.
